I have always been energy sensitive. I consider it a blessing because it makes life rich and it gives me a deep appreciation for all beings. Like many empathic people, I have a deep love for animals. I find them refreshingly authentic and being near them feels like a privilege. Even though I thought it would be natural for me to go into a career working with animals, I felt that directly working with them would be at times too emotionally taxing and not sustainable for the long term. Instead, I a chose a career that advocated conserving their habitat. I studied conservation biology and have worked for an environmental agency for 25 years as a fisheries biologist. I have always been intrigued by the nature because of the vast life it supports and also because it is a reminder that if you look beneath the surface, there are worlds within worlds.
Even though I have always known that I am energy sensitive, it took me some time to figure out that I am a psychic empath. I am able to perceive what others are feeling in my own system. I discovered to what extent I could feel others’ energy when I was laying my hands on my cat while she was being euthanized to provide emotional support. Without watching what the veterinarian was doing, I could feel the drug solution traveling up my vein. I had to look twice to make sure that the vet hadn’t accidentally injected the solution into me. That was the first time that I understood that what I was feeling in my own body was the energy of others. After that experience, I sensed that somehow, what had always seemed like an inconvenience, could become a strength. I committed to learning how to tune inward more by tuning out surrounding stimulation, similar to how you can hear your system better when holding a seashell to you hear. After more practice and meditation, I discovered the practicality of it.
With focused intention and a commitment to connecting in the frequency of compassion, I am able to facilitate healing. As I align with your energy, I attune to the aspect of what you are feeling. Without analyzing the emotions, the wisdom the emotion carries with it becomes more accessible. This wisdom leads to an understanding of how you perceive yourself. Slowly, as one relevation (healing) leads to another, who and what you believe you are unravels. As you attune to the parts of yourself that have been obsucured, you begin to experience yourself as more dynamic, free, and whole.
